"Ah…" I looked at my maids for a moment and smiled. "You could say I swing both ways... or any."
"I see, noted," he nodded. "That's good, you've got a larger pool of people to choose from if you ever want to build your own family in the very far future, right? Very far, you're still a kid."
"Father, I am already 18…" I sighed.
"I know, but that's just a kid, right?" he said. "At least until you're like… let's see, umm… Ah, a thousand years old, right? Yeah, it seems like a small amount of time, decent, right, maids?"
"Eh?"
"Uuh… yes, sir."
They didn't really go against his words, but I did.
"Dad, that's way too much!" I complained. "Well, whatever. I may not be like you, though, I kind of like a lot of people…"
"Y-You do?" he gasped. "Well! I guess that's alright for someone as strong as you. You do you, as long as none break your heart, and if they do, they will die."
He said that very plainly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world
"Agonizingly," he added.
"A-Ah… okay," I nodded. I noticed Ismena and Acelina growing incredibly nervous about that.
Calm down, girls, you would never break my heart…
"Gee, I know you're so young, and yet I can't help but think about grandkids now! That's definitely a possibility now that I think about it!" he said. "Well, I shouldn't think about it too much, though, that's for much later, at least three thousand years from now."
"Dad, that's too much…" I facepalmed.
"Anyway, you should rest for now, your aunt is coming this weekend," he said. "In a day or two from now… Then you can return to classes next week, or you can stay longer to rest, there's no issue with me bribing the director of your school to allow you as much rest as you want. We can even make your exams all perfect scores too."
"No, Dad, that would make it all pointless," I sighed. "I'm going back to school next Monday, don't worry."
"Okey dokey, as the young'uns say… Haha, did I say it right, girls? Did I? I believe it was cool, as they say, right?" he asked the maids, who nervously nodded. "Sugoi and the like."
"No, Dad, it was cringe," I said, crossing my arms.
"Gah?!" he looked like his heart was shattered. "Cringe… I… don't even know what that means, but I bet it's bad, right?"
"Hahaha, I was joking with you, you're fine, Dad," I said, laughing as I patted his shoulders.
Half of my memories and consciousness is the Kireina born here, a youngster with little experience in life who is a little too proud and selfish, and my other half is the Kireina who reincarnated in Genesis and evolved through countless hardships.
When the fusion between our souls happened, there was indeed a little clash, where it seemed my main personality was the Kireina from Genesis, but right now, I believe it has all been merged, so I feel somewhat younger than I should.
Wait, technically, in Genesis, I was already pretty damn young, no?
Well, whatever the case, I am young and definitely not an old hag!
…R-Right?
I better not be having my mid-life crisis right now.
Ah, it doesn't matter.
I am myself, and I am Kireina.
All memories merged into the same being, me.
And I never changed, if anything, I just gained new perspectives.
I became wiser, actually.
Oh yeah, that definitely sounds like I'm an old hag now.
"Well, if you say so! I am still getting used to human customs and society, even after so long," he said. "Hmm, for now, enjoy your breakfast, dear. Once you're done, come to my office so you can receive your Mission Reward."
"Mission Reward?" I wondered.
"Well, of course," he said. "You successfully completed a mission I gave you. Even though you used yourself as the bait, you helped us find the root of the Euphoria Drug, and we even got to meet that Boss in person. Now that I know who he is, whenever I feel his Aura somewhere, I'll know it's him."
"Ooh," I nodded. "Be careful, though, Dad, he was a really strong Sun God."
"Yes, but he was also a Foreigner, not from this country," he said. "Like us, so he doesn't possess a Heavenly Realm from Japan to power up more. This is why he's flying around like a rogue. He probably is still trying to find himself a territory, but I am sure that the other three Families are not giving him an easy time."
"I sure hope so," I said. "He said something about getting more fragments of himself or something, so he'll continue growing stronger over time."
"What? Is that so…" he wondered. "Hm, I've already started a secret operation to look after him. I'm also trying to detoxify the fools who had purchased and consumed the drugs. I was about to just execute them, but I thought about what you would have done, and I held myself from being overly cruel, just this once."
"Well done, Dad, that's what Mother would have wanted too," I nodded. "I've been noticing, though, that our numbers… aren't as big as other organizations, despite our strength."
"We have a lot of agents," he said. "But yes, it wouldn't be so bad to have more. That's why I was thinking of setting up a special Entrance Exam for anybody with strength and wits who wants to join us."
"Woah, really?" I wondered. "How does that work?"
"Using connections with other criminal family heads, we send invitation letters, and they choose their strongest members," he said. "Usually, we are asking for people younger than 25 years of age, we don't want them to be too old."
"That sounds great, is it an exam to polish strength too?" I wondered.
"Yes," he said. "I've been thinking this for a while, and I thought of a great plan, if I say so myself. It'll be held in the dangerous Mount Takao, the place you wanted to go so badly."
