Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart
Ch-1508: The Patron Says It Misses You
Adam Sinclair noticed that she was not as resistant to him as before. Although he didn’t know exactly what caused this small change, he couldn’t help but feel a thrill of surprise. He held back his excitement, keeping it off his face, his eyes narrowing slightly as he calmly said, "Then I’ll just have to find a chance to steal your ID and take you to the Civil Affairs Bureau."
Olivia Lewis frowned and was about to speak.
Adam quickly interjected, "The golden retriever at home is sick, caught a cold, and it said it really wants you to visit."
"Since when did dogs start talking?" Olivia tried to keep a stern face, coldly querying him.
She meant to expose his clumsy lie without saving him any face.
Unexpectedly, the man on the sickbed remained unruffled, gripping her wrist, his eyebrows not even twitching as he responded, "If dogs can be called benefactors, why can’t they speak?"
Damn it!
Olivia found herself caught right there.
Yet Adam calmly continued to stare into her eyes, "The benefactor said it misses you, I heard it.
The benefactor said it misses you.
His voice, still hoarse from the car accident, was deep like the strings of a cello, each word striking a chord in Olivia’s heart.
"It said it misses you very, very much, said it was wrong to think it could leave you, wrong to agree to be apart. It also said that without you at home, it can’t eat or sleep well and is about to go insane."
Olivia’s heart skipped a beat, and she opened her mouth to retort, "Bullshit!"
"With so many people taking care of it, there’s no way it can’t eat! I just saw it a few days ago, and it’s definitely put on weight!"
Without batting an eyelid, Adam said, "Have you bathed it? How do you know it’s gained weight?"
"Just by looking! My eyes aren’t blind!"
"Oh. That’s just bloating, the fur fluffed up a bit, just spray it with water and it’ll slim down. It’s just that it doesn’t want others to see how much it misses you."
Olivia had the urge to just flush him down a toilet.
She didn’t know why she was being led by this man, talking about the ’dog’ with him. By the time she realized it, he had already taken control.
She took a deep breath, clenched her fist, this time decisively cutting the crap, and said crisply, "Adam Sinclair, let go!"
"No!"
Without another word, she directly moved to pry his hand open!
Normally, she wouldn’t have been able to budge it, but now that he just had surgery, there wasn’t much strength in his hands. Olivia exerted force and pried his hand off, immediately stepping back to a place where he couldn’t reach, calmly saying, "I’ll go get the doctor for you."
Adam saw that she was trying to escape.
She had just started to become less resistant to him, and if he let her get away...
He wasn’t sure where he found the strength, but he braced himself on the bedside, desperately trying to sit up. The effect of the anesthetic hadn’t completely worn off, and his whole body was still a bit weak. His arm hit the cup on the bedside table, causing it to fall to the ground with a crash, shattering into pieces.
The person who had just reached the doorway heard the noise and turned back to see him struggling to get up.
Her face suddenly changed, and she rushed back in three steps, pushing him back onto the bed, yelling, "What the hell are you doing?!"
"You want to die, don’t you? If you wanted to, you should have said, so I wouldn’t have wasted my blood!"
She roughly pressed him back, covering him with the quilt.
