Misty Valley, Guardian Tower.
In the hall on the second floor of the Wizard Tower, an extraordinary ball is taking place.
All the participants are Dead Spirits from the cemetery, including Skeletons, Zombies, Ghouls, and even Ghosts.
These dead souls who crawled out of the cemetery are now dressed in beautiful suits and gowns, dancing gracefully to the melodious music in the smooth dance floor.
Even the band above consists purely of a group of Skeletons, these bare-boned figures holding flutes, lutes, and various instruments, playing beautiful music.
In the center of the dance floor, Lynch is dancing enchantingly with a skeleton, humming a tune, gliding along with the beat of the music.
He’s truly overjoyed!
The document from the Supreme Council has recently come into his possession, and the Fran bigwigs have fulfilled their promise, helping Lynch cleanse his identity. From this moment on, Lynch Valen is no longer the despised Black Wizard, but a clean and pure White Wizard.
Never underestimate this connection. Currently, the entire Wizard World is under the control of the Supreme Council. Over two hundred Witch Domains, regardless of their internal Order Rules, are all nominally under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Council.
As a Black Wizard, he is constantly shrouded in a cloud wherever he goes, always worried about the sudden appearance of Bounty Hunters.
In the well-ordered Witch Domains, there’s hardly any place to hide; only in chaotic Witch Domains like Jade Land can one survive in dark corners, much like street rats.
Looking at Lynch’s experiences over the years, do you think he came to this godforsaken place out of fondness?
Even here, he dared not reveal his true self, always treading carefully on thin ice.
Now that his identity is finally cleansed, it’s like the heaviest and thickest shackle has been released from his body. How could he not be delighted and excited?
“Haha, now I’m free to fly high in the sky, swim deep in the sea, explore the wonderful Wizard World as I please!”
In the broad Wizard World, there are still many places he hasn’t visited. There are over two hundred Witch Domains alone, not to mention the mysterious and magnificent places beyond them.
The Sky World above the clouds, the Underground World deep beneath the earth, the ancient and mysterious Elf Forest, the Dwarf Mountain Range with tunnels filled with the scent of wine… There are too many fascinating landscapes he hasn’t seen yet.
Moreover,
there are many places on the Wizard’s Road that are indispensable.
Although the trade network in the Wizard World established under the order of the Supreme Council is now very developed, it doesn’t mean all Cultivation Resources can be purchased through the market.
Many precious resources are unavailable in the trade network, some restricted by geographical conditions can only be gathered locally.
For example, a material called Domain Flower needed for impacting the Third Tier, which cannot be harvested or sold, must be obtained personally by the Wizard aiming for the Third Tier.
There are many similar cases, and many involve very High-Level materials; the higher the Wizard’s tier, the more they need these materials.
Lynch repeatedly sought to cleanse his identity not only for personal safety but also as a significant factor for his Cultivation journey.
“Hum hum hum, hum hum hum hum hum…”
Humming a tune, Lynch twirled his skeleton partner around.
People express their emotions when happy, some like to sing, others like to dance. Lynch, however, enjoys singing and dancing with Dead Spirits…
This little quirk of his developed gradually over the years of investigating ruins and studying Dead Spirits. He doesn’t know why; perhaps it’s the company of these beings daily. Once considered creepy, they have become rather cute after getting used to them, bringing a peculiar sense of familiarity.
“Becoming increasingly twisted…”
Of course, hosting such a Dead Spirit gathering is not solely for leisure and entertainment but also for Lynch’s recent Magic research—
Artificial Soul.
Research on Artificial Soul has been ongoing for some time, and with continuous experiments, Lynch has made some progress.
[Soul Cultivation lv1]
Soul Cultivation has advanced to Level 1, and at this point, Lynch can use soul energy to preliminarily create some Soul Carriers.
The soul cores currently driving these Dead Spirits are made by Lynch using soul energy.
However, these souls are still vastly inferior to real souls, only able to carry some brief instructions and messages. Capability-wise, they are even less potent than commonly used soul fragments or Soul Flames.
Simply put, the Soul Carriers Lynch is creating now are akin to calculators using kb as storage units, whereas genuine Artificial Souls are akin to artificial intelligence; the difference between the two is immense.
But it’s okay, as long as there’s a system panel, as long as my skill level keeps improving, making a real soul is a matter of time.
The music ends, and soon a crisp system notification rings in Lynch’s ear:
“Beep, Soul Cultivation Proficiency +1”
Increasing Soul Cultivation Technique proficiency is both simple and easy; any activity related to Dead Spirits will contribute, including just interacting with them can help, events like this ball are no exception.
After putting down the skeleton miss dressed in a gown, Lynch took a silver wine glass filled with fruit wine from a skeleton servant’s tray and sipped it, then opened the panel to check.
[Soul Cultivation lv1: 16356/100000]
Soul Cultivation Technique proficiency may be easy to increase, but the required proficiency level is quite difficult.
Advancing from lv0 to lv1 only requires ten thousand proficiency, but after leveling up to lv1, it suddenly increased by tenfold, needing a total of one hundred thousand proficiency; Lynch doesn’t know how much proficiency the next level will require after this increase.
Let’s just say the goal is ambitious, the road is winding, take one step at a time and work steadily!
“Cuckoo! Cuckoo! You have mail, Cuckoo! Cuckoo! You have mail!”
Just then, a mechanical cuckoo bird’s voice rings out, soon a mechanical cuckoo bird is seen flying from afar, clutching a letter.
Lynch grabbed the letter and took a close look, his eyes immediately brightening.
The envelope was sent by Fran, a row of impressive small characters marked in the right corner: Lynch Valen, confidential, investigation report on Ancient Ruins.
