“So, what’s it gonna be, dragon boy? I’m really itching for a spin,” Tianling spoke, her fingers twitching with anticipation near Li Mei’s temple.
Liu Feng looked at her with a furious expression.
“Aww, don’t look at me like that babe. I might just panic and do it,” she said, pretending to almost touch Li Mei, her fingertips hovering just millimeters from her forehead.
Liu Feng thought to himself that he was in a real pickle this time.
He couldn’t just let the Grand Elder’s sister-in-law die, but he also couldn’t expose the location of the Grand Elder without permission. What should he do now?
As he was wrestling with this impossible decision, he noticed Tianling’s expression suddenly change. Her eyes widened slightly, and she looked behind them with a serious expression.
Liu Feng wondered what was happening. Had someone come to their rescue?
“Does it feel nice bullying others?” a calm voice called out.
Liu Feng instantly recognized it, relief flooding through him. “Grand Elder?” he spoke aloud, turning his head to look.
Li Mei did the same.
They both looked at Xiang Yu who walked leisurely towards them.
Xiang Yu waved his hand casually, releasing energy from his soul to negate the intimidation effect in the area. Instantly, Li Mei and Liu Feng felt the pressure around them disappear and they could move freely once again.
Although Xiang Yu appeared nonchalant on the outside, internally, he was screaming and cursing his bad luck. He had been thinking of going around this area entirely when he noticed what was going on, but he felt bad leaving them to die and decided to intervene. Now he didn’t know what to do. He was hoping that this trick of dismissing the pressure would be enough for the demon to back away.
Luckily, his cultivation showed at just the Core Formation realm, so he might be able to scare the other party by them not being able to sense his true cultivation level.
As he was calculating his next move, Tianling suddenly appeared before him, moving so quickly that he didn’t see her move at all. “Such speed!” He thought, though he still kept his expression neutral, not letting his surprise show.
He wondered what was up with her as she started patting him down like a customs agent searching for contraband. She then sniffed him.
“Hmm, a Heavenly Dao treasure,” she spoke, placing her hand on her chin thoughtfully.
“What are you talking about?” Xiang Yu asked, already using his real body to resummon the tower. He wondered if he had collected some high-quality treasure she was interested in. What sort of treasure would be called a Heavenly Dao treasure?
“Fellow Daoist…” he began, but she quickly moved her hand, grabbing the tower from behind his back.
“No need to pretend. I can tell that you aren’t that strong. I ran a few thousand circles around you earlier and you only noticed when I stopped before you,” she spoke.
Xiang Yu was shocked by this revelation. How was that even possible? Just how big was the gap in their power?
“What’s this thing anyway?” she asked, examining the tower with slight interest.
“Although it does indeed contain a few treasures, it’s not a Heavenly Dao treasure, so why are you hiding it?”
As she was saying this, the space around the treasure suddenly broke apart and the tower was swallowed into the spatial tear. She had a surprised expression at first but quickly recovered.
She then threw her hand into the spatial tear without hesitation. Xiang Yu had a nervous expression, wondering if she could really get it back, but a loud sound echoed through the air and she retrieved her hand. It was now slightly pink and swollen but quickly recovered.
“A Heavenly grade formation, interesting,” she said, flexing her fingers as they returned to normal.
“But not as interesting as you, of course.”
Xiang Yu didn’t notice when she moved, one moment she was standing before him, the next she had her arms wrapped around his neck, hugging him. She then sniffed him again.
“It really is a Heavenly Dao treasure,” she spoke as she ran her finger along his chest. “But I’ve already searched your entire body and can’t seem to find it.”
This time, she was hugging him from behind, whispering to his ear.
“This can only mean one thing…”
“You are the treasure.”
Li Yao sat in a meditative posture in her room, practicing.
This was one of the places installed as outlets for the formation, so the qi around was quite high. Even so, her immortal grade spiritual root was no joke, she was absorbing the qi faster than it could visibly condense.
As she practiced, slowly circulating her qi through her body, the space around her suddenly shattered. The tears then began spreading outward from her, growing larger and larger with each passing moment.
[Hey, calm down, what’s wrong?] the Empress spoke up.
Li Yao slowly opened her eyes, her expression foul.
[What’s up? Did the mental demons return?] the Empress asked.
“No, I’m just in a bad mood,” she spoke.
She raised her hand and clenched it, causing the space around to start healing.
“I suddenly have the urge to kill someone,” she said casually.
The World Core next to her quickly backed away a few paces.
[Calm down, don’t let it get to you,] the Empress spoke soothingly.
She thought to herself that Li Yao’s mental state seemed fine. Why was she acting like this? Had the mental demons advanced to such a level that they could even disguise themselves as normal emotions?
“I’m okay. I’ll go talk to Senior Brother to feel better,” she said, getting up.
[Good idea], both the Empress and the World Core spoke in unison.
Li Yao picked up her sword that was leaning at the corner of the room. She didn’t unsheathe it, merely gripped the scabbard tightly. Space then broke around her and she was swallowed into the void.
Meanwhile, Liu Feng and Li Mei both had their mouths wide open when they saw how Tianling was all touchy with Xiang Yu.
“Someone actually dares,” Liu Feng thought, shaking his head in disbelief. He was planning to repay this humiliation later when he got stronger, but it seemed he didn’t need to after all.
After whatever was going to happen to her, there wouldn’t be anything left for him to get revenge on.
Li Mei also shook her head, “Karma is really a good thing. RIP, you won’t be missed.”

“You are the treasure.” not in a weird way but like literally
swallowed into the void: void as in void (not to be confused with void)
