My Girlfriend is a Zombie
Ch-1315: Luring the Enemy into the Jar
The man stood there, his whole body icy cold, his eyes fixed dead on that narrow slit. As the gap slowly widened, he finally snapped out of his panic. What shocked him most was that the Iron Door was opening completely… Yet inside, it was pitch black, nothing could be seen at all…
What did the other side mean by this? Were they letting him in? The man shivered as he nervously peered inside… Just then, his eyes suddenly widened!
“Ah! Sun Xu, save me! Save me!”
The man immediately turned around and dashed toward the main entrance. Even with his back to the Iron Door, he could still feel a bone-chilling cold pressing in from behind. It felt as if at any moment, a ferocious beast might pounce on him. Besides, maybe it was just his imagination, but in the instant the Iron Door opened, he seemed to catch a glimpse of a pair of eyes… The moment their gazes met, a flood of terror burst in his heart, surging like a broken dam.
In his panic, he even tripped and fell to the ground after a few steps. After struggling once to get up and failing, he simply crawled forward desperately on his hands and knees.
“Help! Help me!”
The man’s intense reaction startled He Zhen and the others, and the wide-open door filled them with confusion. No one had come out from inside, nor had there been any sound. What on earth had the man seen in there to end up like this?
“Nobody move.” Just as the Male Spider Parasites were thrown into doubt, Sun Xu suddenly spoke up. He stepped forward, and slowly raised a hand.
At first, seeing Sun Xu come forward, the man couldn’t help showing a glimmer of hope. But as Sun Xu raised his hand, the man froze.
“You didn’t even understand the other side’s intentions. How could we just let you come back like this? The time you held out was far too short. If you’d lasted longer, maybe the other side would have come out. Letting you get within ten meters, that’s purposefully giving them a chance. I didn’t expect them to open the door, but isn’t this a good opportunity? Why not go in and take a look?” The smile Sun Xu had held moments before was now completely gone, though for some reason, He Zhen felt there was neither much anger nor disappointment in his eyes. As he pondered this, his heart suddenly skipped a beat…
Meanwhile, the man suddenly realized what was happening… Sun Xu was forcing him inside! His face turned ugly as he abruptly realized he was merely Sun Xu’s Pawn in this contest. Until Sun Xu saw results, he was the most likely one to be killed. All Sun Xu’s talk of survival rate-this was exactly what he meant…
Seeing the man lying motionless, staring intently at Sun Xu, He Zhen felt a growing sense of unease. Just as he thought the man was about to explode, the man suddenly let out a laugh, then shakily stood up.
“Sun Xu, I knew you couldn’t be trusted. You keep emphasizing that I should follow your arrangements, which means you’ve had this kind of plan in mind all along. You want me to scout the way, don’t you? Fine, I’ll go. I’ll go right now.” After speaking, the man slowly turned his head to look back.
But just as he was about to fully turn around, he suddenly whipped his head back, glaring fiercely at Sun Xu. Yet before he could say a word, Sun Xu expressionlessly snapped his fingers. With a crisp sound, the man’s body swelled up like an overinflated balloon, then suddenly burst. Even in death, he kept the posture of about to lunge at Sun Xu…
No one even had time to react before a huge cloud of blood mist and flying flesh exploded in front of their eyes.
And as the blood and flesh splattered, they caught a faint glimpse of a huge figure amidst it…
“I knew it… Scared him half to death, then watched him flee back-things inside can’t be that simple,” Sun Xu also saw the fleeting figure. He sneered coldly, showing no concern at all for having killed the man so easily.
“So ruthless… He never meant to let him come back alive before achieving his goal…” He Zhen thought, his pupils suddenly contracting, his lips trembling, “No… that’s not it. From the very beginning, he never intended for him to survive at all!”
From the flesh scattered on the ground, a huge number of Spiders suddenly crawled out. Their numbers were clearly far greater than what had ever been on the captive. As the Spiders emerged, the flesh immediately shriveled, making it easy to see.
Even at the best of times, there had never been so many Spiders on the man’s body, let alone after a recent fight. Once they figured out the reason, everyone couldn’t help but feel a chill run down their spines. Where did all the extra Spiders come from? When did Sun Xu rig this? How many among them had already fallen victim? ℞Á𐌽ỔВÊŜ
And the man’s manner of death was clearly caused by the sheer number of Spiders forcibly bursting out of his body.
“Such a pity. I never expected they would have that move left, nor that he would collapse so quickly. If he had obediently walked in and then exploded, the effect would have been remarkable. Of course, if he had really gone in quietly, I wouldn’t have killed him. This kind of person, who would rather turn on his own than make even the slightest contribution for us, is not worth keeping around.”
Sun Xu spoke with some regret. After he finished, he suddenly turned to look at the others, his tone cold and indifferent. “After what happened before, I don’t trust you anymore. If I didn’t do this, I wouldn’t dare turn my back to you. Maybe you wouldn’t attack me directly, but you might abandon me, right? Don’t worry, as long as everyone works together, I won’t do anything. So remember, don’t try to run.”
He actually admitted it himself!
A chill swept through everyone’s heart, but no one dared to speak… no one wanted to end up like that man!
“No one’s speaking?” Sun Xu glanced at them, then looked at the wide-open door. “Since the other side opened the door for us, let’s go in.”
Go in? Everyone was stunned again.
“They saw so many Spiders at the door and didn’t react, which means they already have a way to handle the Spiders. And behind this door, there’s no one-they’re probably waiting for us inside.” Sun Xu gave them a meaningful look. “Let’s go.”
The parasites all shuddered at once… He was going to make them scout ahead… And after what happened to that man, they all understood very well what would happen if they refused. After exchanging glances, He Zhen suddenly covered his eyes with his palm, let out a muffled groan, and a mass of Spiders began crawling out from his body. Some stayed on him, while others swarmed around him. After he finished, he slowly started moving forward.
The others quickly caught on. Although they couldn’t avoid being used as scouts, as long as they had Spiders, they could at least protect themselves as much as possible…
“Hmph…” Sun Xu watched their actions but made no comment. He could already sense that there was definitely something wrong inside the factory… But as long as these people obeyed his orders, it was enough for him. As for what they were thinking, Sun Xu clearly didn’t care. What he cared about most at this moment was the factory.
Ever since he arrived, the Survivors’ actions had constantly exceeded his expectations. He had thought they’d defend the factory to the death, forcing his side to exhaust themselves attacking, or perhaps they’d play cat and mouse with him inside the factory. But this wide-open door, inviting the enemy in-it was something he hadn’t anticipated. He had tried to provoke them with a decoy, only for them to turn around and taunt him, even scheming to use the decoy against him… But no matter what, with such a difference in strength and his side’s trump cards still hidden, the other side opening the door so suddenly-weren’t they just seeking death?
But… maybe that’s exactly what the other side thought, too…
“If you think we’re walking into a trap, and I think you’re just being foolish, then let’s just go for it. I get it now-playing tricks with you is pointless. But that’s what makes life interesting…” Sun Xu murmured to himself… From the aura of that figure earlier, he had already noticed-it was the same person who had thrown the corpse pieces before. If so, the one who had been secretly matching wits with him all along was probably this person…
“Let’s move.” Once everyone was ready, Sun Xu spoke lightly.
Although everyone was deeply dissatisfied with him, at least Sun Xu hadn’t sent them to die unprepared, so when he urged them now, some only grunted but silently headed toward the factory.
Even though there wasn’t a single figure at the factory entrance, as they stepped on the floor covered with plasma and recalled the previous man’s reaction, everyone became extremely cautious. Sun Xu followed behind, a thoughtful look on his face. “I understand now… The other side probably already expected I might make a move, right? No matter who acted, his reaction was already in everyone’s view, so the main goal was achieved. It’s funny-I actually thought he really wanted to use that weakling to attack us…”
“No, no, I didn’t misunderstand. He definitely had that intention, too. So much meaning in such a simple move-this person really can’t be underestimated. Compared to their people, our greatest shortcoming is probably lack of experience. Like a pack of wolves from the grasslands, confronting beasts raised in the Zoo…”
