Stop Hypnotizing Me, Antagonist Princess!
Ch-571: Hello, I’m Here to Kill Someone_2
Saul completely ignored the Nightmare Butterfly flying chaotically around the room.
Yesterday, after Pei’er said she had found an excuse, she directly pounced on him. Saul’s first reaction was to seal the diary.
Since arriving in this world, Saul had basically never lived a peaceful life.
He was either facing crises or on the road to solving them.
In this environment, his mind had been highly tense. Even if a woman threw herself at him, he simply had no mood to accept.
But now, he had already advanced to second-rank wizard. In the entire western region of the Stat Continent, he could practically walk sideways.
Even facing third-rank wizards of the Borderland, he wouldn’t be completely defenseless.
Plus, being inside the wizard tower with no warning from the diary, Saul had no reason to restrain himself.
Facing the “aggressive” female sprite, he sneered and pressed her down with his backhand.
Finally, at dawn, the Wind Sprite finally found enough excuses, grabbed Saul’s wizard robe from the floor, and fled through the window in panic.
Her figure looked somewhat disheveled.
Only Saul remained, looking at the messy room with a headache, finally hastily cleaning up with a few small spells when Byron came over.
However, whether that night was an emotional release or simple competition, it quickly became a small episode in his wizard career.
Saul soon left the living quarters and came to the fifth floor of the wizard tower, resuming his secluded study life.
In dealing with Clark, there wasn’t much he could participate in. The battle between third-rank wizards would still rely mainly on Pei’er herself.
And before Pei’er was ready, he couldn’t act rashly.
This time Saul’s secluded study lasted quite long. Half a month passed without anyone disturbing him again.
Senior Byron’s Inertization Formula had just begun. Obviously, this wasn’t a subject that could be researched in a short time.
After half a month, he finally successfully cast his first fourth-tier magic, Electric Light Shield.
Ten rings of varying sizes, sparkling with electric fire, surrounded Saul’s body.
This shield not only had strong defensive capabilities but also had active enemy-seeking functions, able to shoot electric light and automatically destroy small weapons or counteract magical attack effects.
The only two drawbacks were high magical power consumption and somewhat loud noise.
After mastering this defensive magic, Saul left the fifth floor.
It was deep night, and the wizard tower was completely silent.
The corridor walls were also pure white, with only the stone joints being darker in color. Even at night, the path underfoot and surrounding walls emitted a faint light.
This bit of light was enough for Saul, with his excellent night vision, to clearly see the surrounding arrangements and details.
He didn’t disturb anyone and returned to his living quarters on the fourth floor.
The living quarters had been tidied by the butler, with fresh, soft bedding on the mushroom bed.
Saul walked to the bed, and Pei’er’s face suddenly flashed through his mind.
He shook his head, not letting himself indulge in gentle dreams, stretched his arms, and threw himself backward onto the bed.
Penny flew out, looking at Saul with some curiosity. “Brother Saul, are you going to sleep?”
“Penny,” Saul looked at the silver butterfly flying in circles before him, “You know we have a hidden enemy, Dreammaker Clark.”
The nightmare butterfly’s wings paused slightly, her voice somewhat hesitant. “I know. That guy wants me.”
“Right.”
“Actually… actually I can sense that Clark has the scent of nightmare butterflies on him. And it’s very, very strong. Like grinding nightmare butterflies into powder, mixing with honey, then gulping it down.”
Penny landed on Saul’s chest, wings trembling lightly.
“Brother Saul, you won’t hand me over to him, will you?”
“Of course not.” Saul raised his hand to gently stroke Penny’s antennae, but his hand only touched empty air.
The nightmare butterfly, wandering between consciousness and reality, also seemed to be in fear.
“But Penny, you’ve also seen. Although Clark didn’t act to forcibly seize you out of respect for my mentor, he hasn’t given up the attempt. The fake Wind Sprite’s repeated troubles with me were obviously trying to kill me through schemes so she could steal you away.”
“Then, then, then maybe, Brother Saul, you should hand me over.”
Saul was stunned, not expecting Penny to suddenly say this.
But he smiled. “That won’t do. You’re my important bookmark.”
Then he became serious. “I’m telling you this because I’m certain that after the fake Wind Sprite’s death and the real Wind Sprite’s return, Clark still won’t let us go. It’s just that now he’s prioritizing schemes to devour Pei’er’s soul with nightmares.”
Penny’s antennae moved, as if nodding.
“But Pei’er now has her sister’s help, so nine times out of ten she won’t be devoured again. So Clark’s target will likely switch to us.”
Penny flew up again, then stopped on Saul’s fingertip. “Brother Saul, what do you want me to do?”
“I want to… leave something in your dream. It might make you very uncomfortable.”
“Does Brother Saul want to have babies with Penny?”
“Cough cough cough cough…”
The serious conversation atmosphere was completely broken by Penny’s bizarre words spoken in a little girl’s voice.
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Saul caught his breath and quickly scolded. “Do you remember why you entered the diary originally?”
“…Because, I saw Brother Saul’s past.”
“Yes, now I want you to look again.”
Penny flew up with a whoosh, her voice trembling. This time she was truly afraid.
“No, don’t.”
Saul softened his expression, quietly looking at Penny, not making harsh demands but waiting for her choice.
“…I’m very scared, Brother Saul.”
“I’ll stay with you. Do my utmost to protect you.”
The nightmare butterfly’s wings suddenly spread wide. Saul could feel Penny seemed to become happy all at once.
“Then okay, I’ll entrust myself to you, Brother Saul. You have to take responsibility!”
Saul closed his eyes and sighed helplessly. “Sigh, I really can’t do anything about you.”
Penny flew high up, then dove down rapidly, as if afraid she might hesitate, pushing her speed to the maximum.
The silver butterfly suddenly rushed into Saul’s forehead.
“Rumble!!!”
Outside the wizard tower, a golden lightning bolt split the sky.
Then, long-awaited heavy rain poured down with the momentum of washing heaven and earth.
The rain fell all night. After the sun came out in the morning, the heavy rain lessened considerably but continued fine and dense, unwilling to stop.
A pale yellow little bird broke through the rain curtain and landed on the fifth floor of the Purity Wizard Tower, tapping the window with its small beak.
But no one came for a long time.
It flew to the fourth floor and continued tapping the window.
But before its beak could touch the glass, it was gently cupped by a hand.
The little bird kicked with both legs and immediately played dead.
Saul brought the little bird into the room and took out the secret message from its body.
“The news that Old Days Manor might be the Storm Eye has leaked. Don’t go out recently?”
After reading the letter, Saul raised his hand to destroy the paper, then pressed his hand against the window frame and gently moved it. The window immediately shifted on the wall, moving to face the direction of Old Days Manor.
Old Days Manor was separated from Saul’s wizard tower by several hills. Even from this angle, the manor’s rooftop couldn’t be seen.
Saul recalled standing at the manor’s main gate among those dead, dismembered corpses, and silently said: “It’s beginning.”
